Overview

During the second semester, I had the opportunity to create an e-commerce website with a primary goal of delivering users a smooth and hassle-free online shopping experience. The website enables users to explore a diverse array of products, categorize them by various criteria such as prices, and arrange them in either ascending or descending order. Moreover, it incorporates a user-friendly “Add to Cart” feature, allowing users to store their preferred products for future purchase.

Inspirations

My inspiration for the e-commerce website stemmed from top platforms like Amazon or Best Buy, renowned for providing the ultimate online shopping experience. These giants are acclaimed for their user-friendly interfaces and offer a plethora of flexible and convenient features that enhance the shopping journey. By incorporating similar elements into my website, I aim to create an enjoyable and satisfying experience for users, encouraging them to return whenever they wish to shop online.

Challenges

  • Color scheme and typography
  • Photo shooting
  • Add to cart functionality

Solutions

  • Building a website for an existing brand, I had to work within the constraints of their established color scheme and typography. Incorporating black, orange, and blue as the primary colors, I strategically used orange for the header and footer, black for text, and blue for buttons and links. This decision aimed not only to captivate users' attention but also to reinforce brand recognition.
  • Achieving professional product images demanded mastering lighting techniques. By skillfully positioning two lights on each side of the products and adjusting the background, I achieved clear and visually appealing photographs.
  • Implementing a user-friendly cart posed a challenge due to my limited coding knowledge in my first semester. However, diligent research and dedication enabled me to create a seamless cart system that met the website's objectives.

Overall, these challenges enriched my learning experience, honed my problem-solving skills, and led to the creation of a compelling e-commerce website that aligned with both the brand's identity and the users' needs.
